This course was for students of several Bachelor programmes at OTH Amberg-Weiden. Contents were Internet technologies in general, OSI reference model, TCP/IP reference model, transmission technologies such as cable, fibre optics and WiFi, Internet protocol, subneting and routing, transport protocols, application protocols and basics of network security. In supplementary practical exercises, basics of network configuration under Linux were taught, network protocols were analysed with Wireshark, and TCP/IP-based networks were planned and implemented.

This course for undergraduate students was taught annually at OTH Amberg-Weiden and for the last time by me during the Winter Semester 2023/24. My colleague, Prof. Matthias Söllner, with whom I have taught the course in previous years, continues to teach this course.
