Sicher im Internet mit Smartphone und Tablet

Secure online with smartphone and tablet

This talk was meant to demonstrate potential dangers when using smartphones and tablets on the Internet to pupils of years 8 and 9. These include surveillance, data, money and identity theft as well as device takeover. Three different attack scenarios were presented as live demonstrations, for example, a brute force attack on a tablet to unlock the device and gain access to the data. The interception of communication was demonstrated using a fake WLAN. Additionally, the fact that manipulated apps in particular can cause great damage was demonstrated using a Sudoku app that was infected with malware. This enabled the attacker, e.g., to make camera and sound recordings or read out data from the device without the owner taking notice.
