Computer Networks

This course is for students of several Bachelor programmes. Contents are Internet technologies in general, OSI reference model, TCP/IP reference model, transmission technologies such as cable, fibre optics and WiFi, Internet protocol, subneting and routing, transport protocols, application protocols and basics of network security. In supplementary practical exercises, basics of network configuration under Linux are taught, network protocols are analysed with Wireshark, and TCP/IP-based networks are planned and implemented.
