Digitale Forensik
This elective course can be taken by students from all Bachelor’s degree programmes in the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. In order to take into account the different levels of prior knowledge, the required basics of IT security and cryptography are first repeated. The course then covers current trends in cybercrime, the interaction of incident response and digital forensics, Linux as an investigative tool, file systems as a source of forensic evidence, selected computer forensic tools, forensic computer analysis, Internet history and email, computer forensic analysis of Microsoft Windows systems and reporting and documentation of investigation results. Successful participation in the lab exercises is a prerequisite for admission to the written examination.
This course for undergraduate students is taught annually at Kiel University of Applied Sciences during the summer semester.
